Straw-Pine Smoothie

I love summer because of all of the wonderful fruits and vegetables that I am able to get. The strawberries have been sweet and juicy lately so I knew that they would be perfect for this smoothie.

Straw-Pine Smoothie

1 1/2 cup strawberries
8 oz fresh pineapple
1 handful of red kale

Blend to desired consistency.

This smoothie was so yummy. The strawberries and pineapple were very sweet and this was a very kid friendly smoothie. Both kids loved it and wanted more.

Banana Clementine Green Smoothie

A while back, I got a big box of clementines from Costco, "tines" as Mr. Mister calls them. The kids really like them and are usually able to get through the whole box before they start to go south. But this time, they didn't so I decided to peel and freeze the clementines for future smoothie use.

Banana Clementine Green Smoothie

2 bananas
3 clementines, fresh or frozen
1 handful of spinach

Blend to the desired consistency.

This smoothie has a less appealing look to it - it doesn't have a vibrant color to it as a lot of other green smoothies do. But it has a wonderfully mild taste to it. The clementines give it a nice citrus flavor without being too acidic. Mr. Mister liked it more than Little Mama and I think that was because of the pulp from the clementines.

Mango-Peach Madness Green Smoothie

Mango-Peach Madness Green Smoothie

We picked peaches at a local orchard a couple of weeks ago and we picked way more than we could use. I knew that I would be freezing them for smoothies.

1 mango (I used a frozen one)
3 peaches (also used frozen)
1 handful of spinach
1/3 cup water (if you're using fresh fruit you might not need this additional water)

Blend until the desired consistency is achieved, adding water as needed.

There is nothing like the taste of fruits and/or veggies that you've picked yourself. This smoothie was delicious. Little Mama was at school when Mr. Mister and I made this so she couldn't taste it but Mr. Mister loved it.

Pine-Go Green Smoothie

Pine-Go Green Smoothie

This smoothie is incredible sweet. Mango and pineapple are very sweet fruits so it is a prefect combination for people just starting out with green smoothies.

1 mango (I used a frozen one)
8 oz fresh pineapple
1 handful spinach
1/4 cup water, optional

Blend until desired consistency, added water as needed.

Both kids sucked down this smoothie and wanted more afterwards. Very good and we'll definitely be making it again soon.

Purple Mega Berry Green Smoothie

This one has a ton of berries. And, I am lucky to have a high powered blender which really works well on berry seeds.

Purple Mega Berry Green Smoothie

1 cup strawberries
1 handful red kale (or other greens)
1 cup frozen mixed berries (I used blueberries, raspberries and marionberries)

I know that this doesn't look like a green smoothie but the kale is proof positive that it is. Little Mama loved this purple smoothie as did Mr. Mister. Warning - it makes a big mess if it gets splatter around the house.

Shrek Smoothie

This is one of the first green smoothies that I ever made. Amanda, our friend and babysitter, suggested this combination to me. The mangos and bananas with the spinach really give the smoothie the color of Shrek.

Shrek Smoothie from Amanda

1 mango
1 banana
1 handful of spinach

Blend to desired consistency, adding ice or water as needed.

Mr. Mister really likes this one. And Little Mama likes it too. But Mr. Mister is truly my green smoothie drinker. He'll pretty much drink anything that I give him.
